A 29-year-old man was fatally shot Monday night on a basketball court in an East Harlem park, police said.
The victim was blasted in the torso inside Poor Richard’s Playground near the intersection of East 108th Street and Third Avenue at about 11:15 p.m., cops said.
First responders rushed the man to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died a short time later, authorities said.
No arrests were made as of early Tuesday and police did not immediately provide a description of the suspect.
The killing comes amid a spike in homicides and other violent felonies across New York, according to police statistics released Monday.
Eight murders were reported last week — compared to six during that period last year — about a 33 percent increase, the figures show.|0|https://nypost.com/2021/03/30/man-shot-to-death-on-nyc-basketball-court-cops-say/|1|https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/03/032921SHOOTINGS6WM.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=1200|2|nypost.com|E|
